• Barnes and Noble Add Android Authority on Google: Preferred Source Google Discover TL DR TCL and Barnes & Noble have partnered up for a co-branded NXTPAPER tablet. The tablet comes with an 11-inch display and is preloaded with the NOOK reading app.
What happened
The tablet comes with an 11-inch display and is preloaded with the NOOK reading app. It will be released on November 19, 2026, for $249. 99.
Where the sources line up
Back in September, TCL launched the Tab A1 NXTPAPER in the US. Now the company has partnered with Barnes and Noble to launch a co-branded version of the tablet. This variant will cost $249. 99, which is the same launch price as the original. The original model currently sells for $229. 98 on TCL’s website .
Practical impact for readers
This version of the TCL Tab A1 NXTPAPER features an anti-glare 11-inch display, 6GB of RAM, 128GB of storage (can be expanded up to 2TB via microSD), and an 8000mAh battery. You also get a 5MP front camera, an 8MP rear camera, a MediaTek Helio G100 chip, IP54 protection, Bluetooth 5. 0, Android 16, and quad stereo speakers. If this all sounds familiar, it’s because these are the same specs that the original touts.
Who should pay attention now
Unlike the original model, however, this tablet will have the Barnes & Noble Nook app preinstalled. This app offers a large number of audiobooks, comics, books, graphic novels, magazines, and newspapers. It appears that’s the one area where this tablet diverges from the original.
What is still unclear
The co-branded TCL and Barnes & Noble Tab A1 NXTPAPER is currently available to pre-order on the bookstore’s website . It is scheduled to be released later this month on November 19.
